Need Input

There is no count available of how many nests are located at the westside rookery; Gretchen Blatz from Department of Fish and Wildlife went to take a look at the site but she didn't enter too far into the woods because she saw the young were on the nests. I hope to post a good guesstimate here soon, if anyone has information to contribute.

One question I have is whether the westside rookery is an expansion of the rookery that has for many years been located at the lagoon under the Fourth Avenue bridge, or whether bald eagle predation at the lagoon caused the birds to move (the scientific literature documents this phenomenon, that eagles will cause herons to relocate).
